Yes, the workshop content is the same and the purpose is the same.
How do I check if a CPD activity will be able to earn CPD hours, if it is not done through Aquilla Training?
All CPD activities must have been accredited by a Professional Body. ‘Professional Body’ is defined in a ‘body recognised by SAQAas a professional body for purposes of the NQF Act’.
Therefore, always check with the provider of the CPD activity to ensure that the activityhas been accredited by a Professional Body (this can be any Professional Body as recognized by SAQA and is not limited to a specific Professional Body) and for how many CPD hours the activityhas been approved.
The number of hours as well as the Profesional Body who approved the CPD hours is indicated clearly on each workshop/course propectuse/brochure on the Aquilla Training website.
Please ensure that you get a copy of your professional body's CPD policy and that you verify beforehand the allowbale of other professional bodies approved CPD's.
MAquilla Training will issue a certificate of attendance for full attendance of a physical event and will issue a certificate of completion for successful completion (including an assessment) of any approved CPD activity (online course).
The certificate will state the date of completion, as well as the number of CPD hours for the activity, as per notification from the relevant professional body, as well as the Professional body who approved it.
You will be able to access your details on our e-learning platform and print out your certificate once you have enrolled for and completed a CPD activity.
Note: You are responsible to keep your own records of certificates relating to CPD activities, so that you can provide these records to youremployer and or professional body, as required. We will maintain your certificate for a period of five years whereafter it will be deleted. Youe employer / professional body can verify that the certificate is not copied by using the unique QR-code printed on the certificate.
If you need a letter for your emloyer to confirm that you have attended a physical event, request this on the final day of the workshops in your area.
Payments can be made via:
This will depend on your role, professional registration level and the development needs identified for you by your employer and/or your professional body.
Obtain your professionl body's Policy on CPD. All registered professional bodies must have a CPD policy before registration of the professional body.
These policies must be revied and updated from time to time, so ensure that you get the latest policy aproved at the Professional body's Annual General Meeting (AGM)?
Each CPD activity is approved by an accredited professional body in the field of expertise and will be allocated a CPD hour value based on duration, content, relevence and complexity o fthe activity and any assessment requirements.
Continuous professional development (CPD) is required to maintain abilities, skills and knowledge required for professionals. This requires ‘lifelong’ or ongoing learning, meaning that CPD activities need to be undertaken every year, during the CPD cycle and is not a once-off requirement.
Have a look at your professional body's policy on CPD and the cycle your body has decided on.
Some Professional bodies work on an annual cycle from a certain date until an end date, other might have a two or three year cycle.
The cost will vary and will depend on the activity you want to register for.
See prices in the prospectus and the website,
Proof of Attendance and/or a Certificate of Completion will be issued after the completion of each CPD workshop activity feedback indicating your verifiable CPD hours as well as the professional body who approved the CPD.
Online training Certificate of Completion will be issued after the completion of each CPD training activity and the final assessment was successfully completed. The certificate will indicate your verifiable CPD hours as well as the professional body who approved the Online CPD.
A “CPD activity” is a verifiable activity that is accredited by a professional body who also allocates an hour value or a part thereof to the activity.
Some professional bodies allow for activities performed towards a qualification and “product specific training” to als qualify for CPD points.
Please study your professional body's policy on CPD activities to understand what is allowed and what not.
You also need to clarify if they will acknowlege other professional bodies approved CPD's.

.Any person that undertakes CPD should note that amongst other factors, a substantial amount of time is spent on research, development and accreditation of these CPD activities, hence, fees are charged for each CPD activity undertaken.
Aquilla Training tries to keep these fees as cost effective and low as possible to assist you in your endevours to obtain your CPD's required.
It is a requirement from South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) who registers professional bodies and the Act that allows professional bodies to be registered, that all registered professional members must complete the Continued Professional Development (CPD). Each registred professional body will have their own rules and policies in this regard
To keep costs to a minimum, Aquilla Training will not forward records of CPD activities to each of the relevant professional bodies for purposes of professional membership CPD requirements.
It thus remains your responsibility to upload your own CPD hours to your profile with your relevant professional body in accordance with their CPD Policy.
The Professional Body or the Employer can verify the CPD or workshop certificate issued by means of a unique QR-code on Aquilla Training's website.
We will retain your certificate for a peiod of five years after which it will be destroyed.
Continuous Professional Teachers Development (CPD )is a lifelong learning process, where teaching professionals registred with South African Council for Educators (SACE), systematically engage in activities that maintain abilities, skills and knowledge required for professional teachers.
All professional people practice their careers based on the foundation of the code of ethics for a professional society. After all, it is the starting point of the calling they pursue. In carrying out daily duties in their workplace, there is a constant need for development. To develop one needs to grow on a personal as well as professional level.
A vast array of professional bodies are recognised by the South African Qualification Authority (SAQA). The numbers of these bodies are growing steadily which gives the public hope for ethical and professional service.
Professional bodies require continuous professional development (CPD) and this is linked to points. Dr Barbara Louw, as Aquilla Training’s project leader, applied for CPD points for most of the online workshops with the Association for Christian Religious Practitioners (ACRP) / Council for Pastoral and Spiritual Counsellors (CPSC) and continuous teacher’s development points (CTPD) from the statutory body South African Council for Educators (SACE).
This means that Aquilla Training offers self-development and professional development workshops. On the workshop description and the certificate you receive after completing the workshop there is a clear indication of the amount of time spent in completing the workshop and the number of CPD or CTPD points awarded to the workshop. In cases where an application was submitted and we wait for final points to be allocated the system will show points are pending.
You are welcome to attend any workshop, irrespective of your professional or employment status. At the end of each workshop you complete, you will receive a certificate that you can download immediately.
Professional participants can do workshops for self-study or for CPD point recognition by the professional body where they are registered. Therefore, you need to familiarize yourself anew with the requirements, the code of ethics and the principles of your chosen professional body to maintain your professional focus and status. Most professional bodies and voluntary associations acknowledge the CPD points awarded by other professional bodies as long as the workshop topics align with the scope of practice of their members, affiliates and associates.
Thank you for choosing Aquilla Training’s workshops to enhance your growth and development.
